Your Wellness Coach

Jonathan M. Lassiter, PhD

A wellness coach who will partner with you, help you find solutions, recognize and enhance your strengths and artistry.

I’m a Black, same-gender-loving man who knows what it’s like to move through life navigating a career in the arts, discrimination, and toxic artistic environments.

Coaching is about getting you the tools you need to free your mind, so your gift can shine. Maybe you're an actor that can't seem to shake negative, doubtful thoughts. Or, maybe you're an educator who wants to process a sensitive situation; or who wants to better help their students get out of their own way? That's where I come in. Allow me to help you get to the root of the problem with easy to follow steps for the here-and-now. Together, we can address the issue, solidify goals, harness your culture, and develop a clear action plan to achieve them.  Remember, you don't have to figure this out alone. With a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and over a decade of experience as a coach and therapist, I'm here to help you thrive despite it all.

For Actors

During our coaching sessions, you'll be able to:
  • Express Yourself: This is a space to get some things off your chest. Let go, without judgment.
  • Slow Down: Often we miss a chance to process our emotions and thoughts because we feel like we need to jump to the 'right' answer off the bat. You don’t. Slow down, explore your thought and emotions and where they live in your body.
  • Determine What Is Important: Emotions are real but they aren’t necessarily facts. Let’s figure out what needs to be understood better and what can you let go.
  • Understand Your Emotions: Increase your ability to identify the nuances of your emotions.
  • Accept Your Emotions: Learn how to accept your emotions with compassion.
  • Harness Your Emotions: Emotions are powerful. I’ll help you identify strategies that help you turn your emotions into strengths.

For Educators

During our coaching sessions, you'll be able to:
  • Express Yourself: This is a space to get some things off your chest. Let go, without judgment.
  • Get Clarity: Figure out what your Black and POC students are really trying to say to you about their emotions and thoughts.
  • Learn Tools to Help All of Your Students: Learn concrete methods to affirm, normalize, and harness your students’ emotions.
  • Practice Using Tools To Help Diverse Students: Engage in in-session exercises to practice what you learn.
