What is the Black Acting Methods Society?

The Black Acting Methods Society aims to be a vast network of future theatre leaders invested in the field, practice, and cultural legacy of black acting methods.

Applications are now being accepted for rising undergraduate and graduate theatre students to have the opportunity to be a part of the inaugural cohort of the Black Acting Methods Society.

Each application must have at least two, but no more than three students from the same institution applying together.

During the 2021-2022 academic year, applicants must be a Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or 1st/2nd year MFA student.

Selected student participants will gain FREE access to the expertise of the Studio instructors for an entire academic year (2021-2022) as they make a commitment to charter a chapter of the Black Acting Methods Society at their current institution. They will also have the opportunity to be inducted into the Society by the Black Acting Methods Studio!

Possibility of induction and participation in the Society is open to students of all heritages, races, and cultures. We encourage you to read the FAQ section below before applying.
